Registered Clinical Counsellor
British Columbia Borstal Association
We always welcome applications from Registered Clinical Counsellors, and Interns who’d like to join our team in supporting therapeutic individual, couple, family and group clinical counselling and trauma care as well as our Education; Training program. Is this the opportunity for you? The respective incumbent(s) will offer a supportive, compassionate, inclusive, client-centered and strength-based approach to care and delivery. They will have proven success in providing individuals clinical counselling, public speaking, and
the ability to engage audiences from diverse backgrounds and viewpoints.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Registered Clinical Counsellor status through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors
Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline
Clinical training and experience in individual and family assessment and treatment
Specific experience in trauma care and an understanding of trauma-informed practice
Public speaking history and/or training experience
Additional spoken languages, relevant to the Metro Vancouver – Surrey communities is an asset
Position Responsibilities:
Offer an inclusive, culturally sensitive approach and respect for marginalized populations
Clear understanding of Attachment theory and applied therapy
Remain open to collaborative care and a team-based approach
Provide educational workshops and training for staff and community organizations
Ability to manage a case load independently if and when required
Proficient in record keeping, time management and organization
Actively engage in continued professional development in trauma research
Ensure accuracy, confidentiality and security of all client, agency, and community records
Criminal record clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada
The ideal candidate will possess:
